We’ve all heard the saying ‘prevention is better than cure’ and experience means that we know that it’s true. But, let’s be honest, it doesn’t make us any happier to do it! However, never is it more true than with your boiler…

Let’s break this down (before your boiler does):

Safety first. Regular servicing can help prevent carbon monoxide gasses escaping. This odourless, tasteless, colourless gas is highly dangerous, and could potentially be fatal. It accounts for 50 deaths per year, and around 4,000 medical visits – don’t be a statistic, and don’t put your family at risk.

Cost of repair versus replace. During a service, your engineer will spot issues arising, and it’s much cheaper to make a repair during a service than before it develops into a problem, a breakdown, a failure. A well maintained boiler will last longer (and perform better) than a boiler that isn’t serviced.

Efficiency is another reason to regularly service your boiler. The cost of energy per unit is significant, and so a boiler not operating at peak performance has a big impact on the bottom line of your energy bill. Imagine adding another 20% to your gas bill – that could be an extra £126 on your yearly gas bill* – ouch!

And finally, April to September is the quiet time for heating engineers – once September arrives, you’ll have to wait much longer to get an appointment with us to fix your boiler – because we’re out and about fixing broken boilers that haven’t had a regular service… right when you need it most.
